New Trees

We finished planting the trees in our backyard.

One is especially meaningful.

We have planted a Magnolia tree in every backyard we have owned since 1989... in memory of Candi. When Candi died we had a Magnolia tree planted at the local Jr. High School where Candi was the Flag and Banner coach (Heidi was on the team) Along with the tree was a plaque dedicated to Candi and the love she shared with the kids. A few years back the school plan changed, it turned into a a different school all together and the tree had to be removed to make room for a street. So we we now have the plaque at our house and we always plant a magnolia to go with it...
Candi's favorite tree.

Here's a picture of the tree first planted at the school in 1989...

And here's our tree and plaque in our backyard.
We hope to see this tree grow big and beautiful,
as we don't plan on moving ever again!

Very special, indeed! I will always think of Candi when I see Magnolia trees! I am so glad she went onto that golf course near Aunt Cece's house- just to pick a beautiful Magnolia flower... it has made for a wonderful story!

Love you, Mom! With all my heart=)

Hi Heidi's mom.
I spent some time with relatives in Ontario last week. and they have a few magnolia trees in their yard. They are beautiful trees. What a beautiful way to remember your daughter.
I love hearing thru your blog, and thru Heidi's blog, how special your relationship is. Your legacy of being a Christ-follower, is so evident in your daughter, and in her family.
Blessings on you for being faithful as a mom and a grandmother.

Heidi's far north friend, Su-Ann
